International contracts

International sales, distribution, agency and cross-border services: we draft contracts that set out the governing law, the competent court or arbitration, to avoid uncertainty if a dispute arises.

Enforcing foreign judgments

A judgment or arbitral award issued abroad is not automatically enforceable in Morocco. We handle the exequatur procedure to allow enforcement and, conversely, work with our correspondents to have Moroccan decisions recognised abroad.

International arbitration and mediation

  • Drafting arbitration clauses
  • Representation in arbitration proceedings
  • Challenges to awards and enforcement

International debt recovery

Whether a foreign company is owed money by a Moroccan debtor or the other way round, we build the most effective strategy to obtain payment.

Individuals

International successions, divorces of mixed couples and the status of foreigners in Morocco: we determine the applicable law and defend your interests.

Frequently asked questions

Is a French judgment enforceable in Morocco?

It must in principle go through an exequatur procedure before the competent Moroccan court, which checks in particular its validity and compliance with Moroccan public policy.

Does Morocco recognise foreign arbitral awards?

Yes. Morocco is party to the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards. An exequatur procedure is still required.

Which law governs an international contract?

In principle, the law chosen by the parties. Without a choice, conflict-of-law rules determine the applicable law, which is why a clear clause matters from the drafting stage.
